Are you a fan of the game Terraria? As you may already know, speed is crucial when it comes to progressing in the game. This is where the Dunerider Boots come in! These nifty accessories provide a boost to your speed, similar to the Hermes Boots. But here’s the exciting part: the Dunerider Boots give you an extra speed boost when running on Sand Blocks, Sandstone Blocks, or Hardened Sand Blocks.
How to get Dunerider Boots
To get your hands on a pair of Dunerider Boots, you can search for them in Sandstone Chests in the Underground Desert. Alternatively, you can find them in Oasis Crates or Mirage Crates. But if you’re having trouble finding them, don’t worry! You can increase your chances of obtaining a pair by using a Crate Potion.

How to craft Dunerider Boots
To craft the Dunerider Boots, you’ll need a Tinkerer’s Workshop and the following materials: 10 Sandstone Blocks, 5 Coral, 10 Cactus, 1 Aglet, 1 Hermes Boots, and 1 Anklet of the Wind. Once you have all of these, you can start crafting your boots.
How useful are Dunerider Boots?
They provide a significant speed boost of 30 mph on regular tiles and a whopping 53 mph on Sand Blocks, Sandstone Blocks, or Hardened Sand Blocks. Plus, this speed boost even works on Corrupted, Crimson, and Hallowed variants of those blocks.
Another exciting aspect of the Dunerider Boots is that they work alongside the Gravitation Potion or Gravity Globe. However, since sand blocks are subject to gravity, you’ll need to support them with Platforms if you want to walk on the underside.
Using the Dunerider Boots on Sand, Sandstone, or Hardened Sand runways is a fantastic pre-Hardmode alternative to using Asphalt. Just be aware that if you craft Spectre Boots using Dunerider Boots and Rocket Boots, you’ll lose the sand-boosting ability. So, if you want to take advantage of the sand boost, it’s best to hold onto the Dunerider Boots.
What is the difference between Dunerider Boots and Hermes Boots
The Dunerider Boots have an added advantage over the Hermes Boots – they provide an extra boost of speed when you’re running on Sand Blocks, Sandstone Blocks, or Hardened Sand Blocks. Although both boots increase your horizontal movement speed by 40% while sprinting, the Hermes Boots do not provide any extra speed boost on sand blocks. The Flurry Boots and Sailfish Boots work in the same way as the Hermes and Dunerider Boots, with the only difference being their appearance.
Dunerider boots vs Spectre boots
Dunerider Boots are an excellent option if you’re looking to increase your maximum movement speed. Not only that, but they also provide an additional speed boost when running on Sand Blocks, Sandstone Blocks, or Hardened Sand Blocks. This makes them an excellent choice if you’re spending a lot of time in desert environments or if you simply enjoy speedy movement.
On the other hand, Spectre Boots are crafted by combining Rocket Boots with either Flurry Boots, Hermes Boots, Dunerider Boots, or Sailfish Boots. They offer a range of abilities, including flight and hovering, making them incredibly versatile. However, it’s important to note that they don’t carry over the bonus speed boost of Dunerider Boots when crafted.
